Durban - A robber dropped a jacket and three cellphones after he allegedly stole from a Pietermaritzburg home in the early hours of Friday morning.

Mi7 National Group spokesperson Colin Davids said the company had received a message from a community group requesting assistance at Pat Newsom Road.

“It is believed a suspect had broken into a property and stolen a number of electronic items,” Davids said.

“Mi7 armed response was immediately dispatched to the property and received a description of the suspect from the resident. While searching through the property, Mi7 reaction officers found a jacket belonging to the suspect as well as three cellphones.”

Davids added that patrols were carried out in the area to search for the suspect and the matter was handed over to the police for further assistance.
