Durban - Three armed men allegedly hijacked a motorist and held him hostage before dropping him off at a cemetery in Pietermaritzburg.
Magma Security and Investigations said that alongside Mi7 National group, Plessislaer SAPS and Tracker SA, on Friday a white Toyota Avanza was hijacked in the Imbali area.
“The driver was held hostage while the suspects were looking for the tracking device. The victim was then dropped at Azalea Cemetery at 8pm where he then made his way to Plessislaer SAPS to report the hijacking,” Magma Security and Investigations said.
“The vehicle was then tracked to the Sweetwaters area where it was recovered by members of Magma and MI7.”
Magma Security and Investigations said that the vehicle was handed over to officers from Plessislaer SAPS.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Nqobile Gwala said that Plessislaer SAPS were investigating a case of carjacking after a complainant alleged that he was robbed of his vehicle by three armed men at Imbali Unit 2. The suspects drove off with him and then dumped him at Azalea Cemetery.
