Durban — A man died in hospital after he was stabbed multiple times in an alleged home invasion in the Ballito area, north of Durban, on Saturday.
Medi Response spokesperson Paul Herbst said their advanced life support paramedics, together with Lenmed eThekwini paramedics, responded to the Ballito area where they stabilised a “critically injured man who was stabbed multiple times during a home invasion”.
“An alleged perpetrator was apprehended and detained by members of the community, who had heard the victim’s calls for help. The suspect was handed over to the police,” Herbst said.
He said the patient was in critical condition and was going to be transported to a nearby facility under the care of Medi Response advanced life support paramedics.
Police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said on Saturday, Umhlali police were called to the scene in Ballito.
“On arrival, they were informed that a man in his thirties was stabbed multiple times and was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival,” Ngcobo said.
“A suspect was arrested for murder and detained at Umhlali SAPS.”
