Durban - An alleged domestic dispute has resulted in the shooting of two women, two children and the shooter in Shakaville, KwaDukuza, north of Durban, on Thursday afternoon.

IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Dylan Meyrick said their advanced life support paramedics were on the scene of the shooting where it was reported that five people, including two children, sustained gunshot wounds following a domestic dispute.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find two adult women and two children in critical condition. The two children and their mother were stabilised on the scene by IPSS Medical advanced life support and were rushed to a nearby facility for further care,” Meyrick said.

“The second woman was treated and transported by EMRS.”

“The suspected gunman drove himself to the hospital with self-inflicted gun wounds where he later passed away,” Meyrick continued.

He said the police were on the scene and would investigate further.

Initially, Meyrick said that reports from the scene indicate that a domestic dispute resulted in an adult female and two children being shot by a male. All three victims were in critical condition and are currently being stabilised on the scene.

Police had not commented by the time of publication.
