Durban - Two rescue units captured and relocated two snakes in two separate incidents in KwaZulu-Natal on Friday.

Mi7 National Group spokesperson Colin Davids said the company had received a call from a Clarendon resident requesting assistance after a highly venomous puff adder was spotted in the garden.

“Mi7 rescue units, who are trained in snake handling, were immediately dispatched,” Davids said.

“The animal was safely captured and relocated.”

In another incident, START Rescue received reports of a snake needing to be relocated in the St Lucia area, northern KZN.

START Rescue spokesperson Warren Brauns said: “On arrival, the member was presented with a healthy and shy vine snake that was safely caught and released in a nearby nature reserve.”
