DURBAN - No further temporary road closures are required near Lions River in KwaZulu-Natal after Eskom completed its work on overhead transmission lines on Monday.

That was according to a statement by the N3 Toll Concession (N3TC).

“N3TC appreciates the patience and co-operation of road users and the swift manner in which all contractors, the road traffic inspectorate and road incident management services worked to limit traffic disruptions and complete the work in the shortest possible time,” the N3TC said.

Last Thursday, the N3TC had warned N3 road users to prepare for intermittent partial road closures and traffic disruptions near the Lions River interchange, Exit 114, from Monday this week until Wednesday, March 9.

The closures were required by Eskom to finalise essential work on the overhead transmission lines and conductor that supply electricity to the area.

Weather permitting, the work was planned to take place at specified two-hour intervals on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
