Popular Kloof restaurant held up

Durban - Robbers held up a popular restaurant in Kloof on Wednesday. 

Stoker’s Arms, a popular pub and restaurant situated in the old Kloof Railway Station, was held up by four men carrying firearms. 

Captain Nqobile Gwala, a KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, said the complainant alleged that at 5am, he was performing his duties as a security guard at the business premises in Kloof when he accosted by four men.

"At gunpoint, the men damaged the door, took cash, liquor, TV, two cellphones and fled the scene in their getaway vehicle. A case of robbery was opened at Pinetown police station for investigation," Gwala said. 

The robbers allegedly carried out a burglary at a residence in Cliff Road, Hillcrest prior to the robbery at Stokers Arms stated a report from the South African Community Crime Watch.  A flatscreen TV, other electronic goods and clothes were taken during the burglary.
