Durban - A Durban woman has been abducted during an apparent hijacking in Powell Road, Morningside on Friday morning.

A video of the incident has since surfaced on social media.

In the video, the woman is seen getting out of her vehicle carrying her cellphone and handbag. Her assailants are parked nearby. The woman alights from her vehicle and is then confronted by a group of men.

One of the men grabs her cellphone and bag. Two of them bundle her back into her car and get in. One of the men gets into the woman's car and drives off.

Meanwhile, one of the assailants gets back into a vehicle, where the driver is waiting and they drive off.

Marshall Security spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen, said the men were armed.

“Marshall Security and police are searching for the woman,” he said.

Van Reenen rubbished claims that the woman has been found. He pleaded with the public not to share any information that is not verified.
