Durban - Local DJ Ameeth Shah has won the 2018 Redbull Music 3Style World DJ South African National Championships.
Shah will represent SA in Taipei, Taiwan for the World Finals in January 2019. Shah said he is still recuperating from all the celebrations after Friday's win. Shah said he has accomplished one his goals representing the country.
Since last years event, he saw it as a challenge to himself as a DJ. He had to re-invent, discover and find some organic freshness to what he loves doing.
"Things just got real. Really exciting and scary times ahead. The whole experience without competing is still one memorable and amazing get together of DJ culture and how we connect through the power of music," Shah said.
Shah said the process felt like a final exam for a DJ and there is so much of work that goes into it along with sleepless nights, hours and sacrifices.
"One has to tap much deeper into your soul to try and tell your story through music. Thank you to my DJ Homies who helped me with pieces of the puzzle and all their creative input, "Shah said.
