(President Zuma with Bafana Bafana team captain Bongani Khumalo, Coach Gordon Igesund, Deputy Minister of sports Gert Oosthuizen, Minister of Sport Fikile Mbalula and SAFA President Kirsten Nematendani). President Jacob Zuma visited Bafana Badfana at their training camp at Orlando Stadium in Soweto to wish them well ahead of their opening AFCON match against Cape Verde.

It’s only three more days until the Africa Cup of Nations springs into life with the opening ceremony in Soweto on Saturday.

Bafana Bafana will be taking on Cape Verde in the first match of the tournament on Saturday.

In a show of support, LeadSA is calling on South Africans to don their Bafana football jerseys every Friday until the tournament ends.

Football Fridays proved to be popular during the 2010 World Cup, and LeadSA is hoping South Africans will take to the continental football tournament with the same enthusiasm.

A launch party for Football Fridays will take place on Friday, where Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula will be joined by guests from the local soccer scene.
