Teen TV star Selena Gomez’s romance with popstar Justin Beiber isn’t going down to well with the ‘Somebody to Love’ singer’s fanatical fans.
According to the Daily Mail, Gomez has received a string of death threats after she was pictured kissing Bieber on a holiday in the Carribean. The pictures confirmed that the two are in a relationship, after months of speculation.
Bieber’s fans, however, were having none of it. Known as 'Beliebers', they took to the net and directed several threatening messages at 18-year-old Gomez.
One read: 'Roses are red, violets are blue, @selenagomez if you'll break @justinbieber's heart I'm gonna kill you'.
Another said: 'I'll kill you I swear on GOD!!!'
'If you are the Girlfriend of Justin I will Kill you I HATE YOU :@ !!!' screamed a another text.
The superstar lovebirds haven’t responded as yet, but Gomez did send out a tweet to her fans to inform them that she would be attending the upcoming People’s Choice Awards.
'Guess what!? @selenagomez and the Scene will be performing live from the People Choice awards on Wednesday', wrote the ‘Wizards of Waverley Palace’ star.
Gomez’ fans stood up for their idol.
'Omg some of the things 'Beliebers' have been saying to poor @selenagomez are awful, it makes me wanna cry', one fan posted.
Gomez and Bieber have been spotted enjoying each other’s company in recent weeks, but have denied that any sort of romance is on the cards.
Gomez has previously insisted that she sees Bieber as 'family'.
'I love Justin. When he first started to come over from Canada his manager contacted me and he just said that he would like to meet me and he was just such a good kid…' she said.
'I feel like a big sister now, because I want to protect him.’
