London - Justin Bieber's mother thinks Selena Gomez is a “sweetheart”.
Although the former couple have called time on their on/off relationship, Pattie Mallette admitted she loves Selena and wishes the pair would get back together although she tries to support Justin in all of his decisions.
Speaking on the Today show, she said: “You know, I just try and support whatever he's wanting. I think Selena is a sweetheart, and whatever they decide is great.
“It's tough letting go and letting our kids make the mistakes they need to make.”
It was recently claimed that Pattie has been urging Justin, 18, to reconcile with the 20-year-old Spring Breakers actress because she feels Selena is a good influence on him.
A source explained: “Justin's mom has always been very close to Selena, and she's impressed by what a good influence she's been on her son. Pattie's been pushing hard for Justin to get back with Selena. However, Selena doesn't want to associate with the crowd Justin's been hanging out with lately as she thinks they're not to be trusted.”
Selena is said to be unimpressed by her ex-boyfriend's recent antics - including photos of him allegedly smoking marijuana being leaked online - and feels Justin's friends are to blame.
The insider added: “Pattie believes though that if Selena would just get back together again with Justin she could soon get him back on the straight and narrow.” - Bang Showbiz
