Soth African Police Force General Bheki Cele seems to have a penchant for women with the surname Ngcobo. He's been romantically linked to three and now a fourth one looks to be the first to pass the post and become Mrs Cele.

Cele's spokeswoman Nonkululeko Mbatha confirmed that the general would be marrying Thembeka Ngcobo in September this year.

Controversial millionaire ex-policeman S'bu Mpisane, Minister for Justice Jeff Radebe and Orlando Pirates' chairman Irvin Khoza all formed part of Cele's lobolo negotiation delegation at the Ngcobo homestead in Amanzimtoti last weekend.

Cele, 58, paid lobolo in full for Ngcobo, 31, who works in Tshwane as a Metrorail communications officer.

Cele was reportedly married to a Thando Ngcobo and also dated continuity presenter, Zama Ngcobo.

Cele also had a long relationship with aspiring model Bongiwe Ngcobo. But on Christmas Day in 2008, Bongiwe Ngcobo, reportedly Cele's fiancée at the time, was involved in a near-fatal crash on the N2 near Nandi Drive in Durban.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha told the Saturday Star that she crashed a Mercedes-Benz into a bridge and the Jaws of Life had to be used to remove her from the car. No other vehicles were involved.

Botha said Cele was at the scene after the accident. And a hospital spokesperson said when she was brought in Cele was by her side at all times and was seriously concerned about her wellbeing,

But Cele dumped Bongiwe last year. And shortly after his appointment to the top police job, she spilled the beans about their relationship, claiming Cele had hardly contacted her after the crash.

She told City Press newspaper that her luxury home in Midrand and the Mercedes Benz which she crashed were two of the many gifts Cele had showered on her.

Bongiwe said Cele had spoiled her with overseas holidays in Germany and Italy, and bought her countless clothes that could no longer fit in her wardrobe, but had not spoken to her in the months after the accident.
