For his education, Tlale attended the Vaal University of Technology in South Africa, where he was inner as an institutional representative for VUT at the Summer Cup Horse Racing Fashion Competition. In 2005, Tlale was approached by Carducci to design Carducci woman range. The following year, Tlale was selected as one of five South African designers to take on the challenge to design the Canderel pocket sash.
To go along with his numerous fashion show appearances, Tlale has collected a number of prestigious fashion awards. He was the winner of the 2003 SAFW Elle New Talent Show Competition and was also nominated that same year as the best new designer of the year by the Sunday Times. In his young career as a fashion designer, Tlale has the experience to dress the elite in entertainment and music. In 2003, Tlale had the privilege to dress international gospel musician Yolanda Adams.
