The male and female lead actors have shared their experiences in the run-up to the release of the Fifty Shades of Grey film.

Dakota Johnson is to portray Anasasia Steele opposite Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey in the big-screen adaptation of E. L. James' 'Fifty Shades of Grey' trilogy and she insists she has no concerns about shooting any of the raunchy scenes.

She said: “I don't have any problem doing anything. The secret is I have no shame.”

The 24-year-old actress insists she was more interested in the “emotional” aspects of the story than any of the sexy scenes.

Asked what intrigued her about the books, she told the new issue of America's Elle magazine: “Reading the book, I found myself more interested in the ways they were breaking each other down emotionally than the sex scenes. I think there's a part of a woman that wants to be the thing that breaks a man down.”

The actress is the daughter of actor Don Johnson and his ex-wife Melanie Griffith and she claimed she used to get “picked on” for having famous parents by people who didn't even know her.

She said: “I think people, especially the press, like to pick on children of famous people and I think that's f***ing awful. Things get made up. It's so, so sad. And there's absolutely nothing you can do about it as a 16 year old. You're like....Why? What did I do?”

Meanwhile, Jamie - who is married to Amelia Warner - insists the movie will be a success even if just a small percent of those who read the book enjoy the film.

Talking on 'The Graham Norton Show', he said: “I mean, look, we're in a really powerful position that 90-plus million people have read the book so if like a third - I mean, a hundredth of those people - that's successful if they go see the film.

“It's a nice position to be in, but I have no idea what it's going to do.”

Jamie says filming the flick has improved his walking, as he had to shoot a ballroom dancing scene which inadvertently made his day-to-day posture better.

He explained: “So basically, I've always had a complex with the way I walk. I've not always been told I've got a bad walk, but someone's always commented on my walk. It's always been a bit like, 'All right. That's how you walk?'

“My wife tried to help by making me lean back and then in 'Fifty Shades...' my character has to dance the foxtrot and the teacher said, 'Do it as though you are walking, heel to toe.'

“No one had ever told me that. I was always toe-to-more-toe! Now I just apply that every day, when I'm walking around.” - Bang Showbiz and IOL
