Britney Spears' conservatorship could last indefinitely.

The 33-year-old singer's legal and financial affairs have been managed by her father Jamie Spears since she suffered a public breakdown in 2008 and, according to TMZ, there are no plans in place for it to end.

Sources close to Britney told the website that the conservatorships in place, one for the 'Toxic' hitmaker herself and another for her finances, are successful and all parties are happy with the agreement.

Additionally, Britney has “substantial day-to-day freedom to make her own decisions”.

Britney, who has sons Sean Preston, nine, and Jayden James, eight, with former husband Kevin Federline, is reportedly worth $49 million and last year alone the conservatorship made $14 million in gross profits.

It was previously claimed that the legal order was one of the reasons for Britney's split from boyfriend Charlie Ebersol.

A source said: “Britney has a lot of issues, and it's a lot for a young single bachelor to take on. The fact that Britney is still under a conservatorship is obviously very telling.

“She can't manage her own affairs. Charlie didn't want to become a father figure in her life. She was demanding it and made him feel trapped.”
