Caitlyn Jenner made an emotional speech as she picked up the Transgender Champion award at Glamour's 2015 Women of the Year Awards.
The 66-year-old reality TV star - who was known as Bruce before her transition - wowed in a floor length blue gown at the ceremony on Monday as she paid tribute to her family for standing by her.
After accepting the award from actress Judith Light, who stars in the show 'Transparent', about a family coming to terms with their father being transgender, Caitlyn said: "I'm so blessed I have family. Not one has abandoned me they’ve been supportive of me, it’s been great.
"When it comes to gender, everyone in this room is on a journey. We are constantly learning, growing as human beings, learning about ourselves. But there’s a segment of this population that when it comes to gender, there is mass confusion deep down inside."
"I've had many, many, many years of isolation of hiding from the world, lying to the world, of not being myself."
Caitlyn revealed how she explained her transition to her children, saying: "I sat each one of them down and said to them this is my story this is who I am – what can I do.
"I sat down with my pastor, talked to him, about my issues. And yes, I had a lot of conversations with God. And I came to the conclusion that you know what, maybe this is why God put me on this earth. To tell my story. To be authentic to myself about who I am and in doing that, maybe you can make a difference in the world.
"What a great opportunity in life to have. So few of us ever get that opportunity."
Caitlyn was joined at the event by her youngest daughter, Kylie Jenner, 18.
Other winners at the event, which took place at New York's Carnegie Hall, included Victoria Beckham and Reese Witherspoon.
