Cardi B was left devastated last week when she found out the 26-year-old rapper had been arrested in Georgia, Atlanta, after he was pulled over and caught carrying a weapon while on probation stemming from an incident in 2016.

However, the 25-year-old beauty is adamant the police set out to arrest the Migos star before they even found the weapon because he's "black and a rapper."

A source told TMZ.com: "She thinks he was pulled over for doing nothing more than being a rich, successful black rapper. She doesn't think he broke any laws because he doesn't own any firearms. It was a targeted attack from the hip-hop cops."

However, although there is a chance Offset - whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus - could end up behind bars, Cardi is adamant she'll stand by her man.

The insider added: "She'll stay with him even if he were sentenced to prison."

Offset is now facing two felony charges; possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a weapon during a crime and two misdemeanours; possession of marijuana (one ounce or less), and an improper lane change.

But Cardi isn't the only one who thinks her beau has been "targeted" as his lawyer Drew Findling has claimed the police are lying about what happened as they didn't order Offset to walk the line after they allegedly smelled marijuana in his vehicle.

He said: "It's a common theme. We're talking about a young, African-American man driving a shiny, beautiful luxury car and clad in designer clothes and watches and jewellery.

"Unfortunately people in his genre become a target for law enforcement who think that lifestyle is connected to some illegal activity ... and that is a sad statement."

Drew claimed that Offset's assistant, the passenger in his car, had a licence to carry guns and had firearms in the car for security purposes.

Meanwhile, Offset is said to be "very concerned" about the impact of his arrest on wife Cardi B, their new two-week-old baby daughter Kulture, and his three other children from previous relationships.

A source said: "He is concerned, very concerned, about [Cardi B]. Of course his new baby is his top priority as well as his other children."
