Twitter streets were left shook on Wednesday after US actress Taraji P Henson slammed an event that named her as one of its keynote speakers.

The 'Acrimony' star quote-tweeted the event promo on Twitter, alerting fans that it was a "false advertisement".

Taraji, however, was not the only Hollywood star included in the line-up, Halle Berry's name was also listed —  but not anymore. Both stars' names have been removed from the official line-up on the International Women in Media website, and all previous social media mentions of the actresses' involvement have also been deleted from 21st Century Group official Twitter account.

The removal of Halle's name came as no surprise to fans, as tweeps called it soon after Taraji exposed the organisers "scam", and weighed in on the matter with a series of hilarious memes.

So they lied about Taraji P.Henson coming at #WIMCon2018😂😂😂I'm sure even Halle Berry is not coming 😕 pic.twitter.com/6uW6AeyXD2

I see what’s happening here. So they had planned to scam people with announcing Taraji P. Henson and Halle Berry as Key Speakers at the event and then announce the night before that they aren’t coming but their mistake was to tag them on their posts 💀 pic.twitter.com/RDcEN77bXn

Does Halle Berry know that she's coming to South Africa in September? Does Beyonce Knowles that she's coming to South Africa in December? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/OqFswnuG7o

The event, which will take place in September, still has a notable line-up that includes Connie Ferguson, Amanda du Pont.
