Pop star Katy Perry and Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom are "back together", according to a source.

The on-again, off-again couple were spotted paddle-boarding together in Santa Barbara, California, over the Labor Day weekend and a source close to the duo has now revealed they've rekindled their high-profile romance.

The insider told E! News: "Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are back together.

"They never stopped loving each other. They are both working on making it right this time."

The claims come shortly after the chart-topping pop star admitted she likes having Orlando in her life.

Speaking last month, Katy - who was married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 until 2012 - confessed: "Well, you know, I think people are in and out of your life. It's nice to keep people you love around you.

"When you get older, lines get blurred. And you know what, I'm really busy. I'm about to go on tour for another year."

Meanwhile, another source claimed Katy and Orlando - who was previously married to Australian model Miranda Kerr - never stopped speaking to each other, despite their split earlier this year.

And the duo are said to have subsequently developed a better understanding of their dynamic, which has led to this reconciliation.

The source explained: "They have never cut communication since they broke up. They just took a break because it was the best thing for them at that time, [but they] are seeing each other again. Katy and Orlando want this to work this time, so they are working on mending their relationship.

"They've had some really good talks and have a better understanding on their needs. Time will tell at this point, but [things are] looking very positive.

"When they went out in public, they were aware that people would start speculating that they were back on, and they are OK with that. They love each other and never stopped."
