PICS: Bonang Matheba 31st birthday was an explosion of glitz and glam

Bonang Matheba is known for loving herself, and throwing a lavish birthday party is exactly how she chose to express that love. 

Bonang celebrated her 31st birthday at the exclusive Summer Place venue in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, with those she calls near and dear. Tuesday night's celebrations follows her first party which was held over the weekend at Taboo nightclub, which saw some of Mzansi's biggest stars join in festivities. And on Monday, which was her official birthday, the TV personality hosted an intimate luncheon at home.

Some of the people on Tuesday night's guest list included Lorna Maseko, Babalwa Mneno, Pinky Girl and Nadia Nakai. 

B wore a Biji La Maison couture dress that, according to the designer, tried to capture "champagne bubbles blended with tones of Bonang’s favourite colour pink and my love of metallics, lilies and birds!"

It is well documented that B loves pink (remember her 30th birthday party last year) so it is no surprise that pink balloons were seen everywhere and that the floral arrangements were dominated by pink. The floral work was done by celebrity events planner Zavion Kotze.

One of the main attractions for the evening was Matheba's cake, the letter "B" adorned with flowers, which came with supporting act — pyrotechnics. It really was a sparkling affair.
