London - Sylvester Stallone had to have a metal plate inserted into his back after a nasty fall while shooting 'The Expendables 3'.
The 68-year-old star - who suffered a hairline fracture and had a metal plate inserted in his neck while filming 'The Expendables' in 2009 - suffered yet another injury to add to his lengthy list throughout his action film career and joked the latest addition to his body it has left him squeaking.
Speaking at a press conference to promote 'The Expendables 3' in central London on Monday, the actor - who plays main character Barney Ross - said: "I usually grade the quality of the film by the intensity of the injury.
"In this one I ended up really taking a fall on my back and ended up having some metal inserted in there so if I'm squeaky then it's not my shoes, it's my back!"
Antonio Banderas also revealed he, too, suffered while shooting the movie but his injury came in his first take, however he didn't tell his fellow cast members because he didn't want them to think it was down to old age.
The 53-year-old star added: "I got injured in the first take that I did in the movie. I carried the injury all the way through but I didn't say because I didn't want anyone to think I was getting older.
"It was running on the roof to the helicopter and I got pain in my right knee and it stayed there."
Last year, it was revealed Jason Statham - who plays Lee Christmas in the movie - nearly drowned while the cast were shooting the action film after a stunt went wrong.
'The Expendables 3' - which also stars action hero heavyweights Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford - is released on August 14 in the UK. - BANG Showbiz
