Fans were left devastated after the news of South African rapper Linda "ProKid" Mhkize's passing broke on Thursday morning.
The 37-year-old rapper suffered a "severe" seizure on Wednesday evening while visiting friends.
The sudden passing of the "Soweto" hitmaker saw a flood of tributes pour in on social media from fans, peers and celebrities. It also saw the birth of the #ProKidChallenge in honour of the fallen star, where fans record themselves paying tribute to the rapper by rapping along to his verses. The challenge was initiated by a South African business mogul, Vusi Thembekwayo.
Can we start a #ProKidChallenge but posting videos of ourselves lacing some of his best lyrics?
Let do a challenge of something positive .... for once. #RIPLindaMkhize #RIPProKid
