Local comedian and "The Daily Show" host Trevor Noah may have not bagged an Emmy on Monday night, but his personal account of the event that he shared with fans on his Instagram account is definitely award-worthy.

Noah shared more than two dozen Instagram stories and images as the night progressed.

Noah was nominated in the Outstanding Variety Talk Series category, competing against late-night talk show heavyweights James Corden, Samantha Bee, and Jimmy Kimmel, but it was "Last Week Tonight" host John Oliver who came out tops for the third consecutive year.

Noah won his first Emmy award in 2017, during the Emmy Awards Creative Arts ceremony, for his YouTube comedy special "The Daily Show: Between the Scenes" in the Short Form Variety Series category.

If Noah had won this year, he would've made history as the first black host to ever win an Emmy for Best Variety Talk Series for "The Daily Show."
