When entertainer Zodwa Wabantu saw the video of a mother holding her child and begging for money, she took it upon herself to track them down and offer her assistance.

Speaking to TshisaLive earlier this week, Wabantu said the video touched her emotionally and this is what prompted her to reach out to the family to see how she could help.

"I was looking back at my own life when I had nothing. You can't just be rich and bragging about expensive alcohol. I'm Zodwa for the people and let me share."

Wabantu then endeavoured to verify that the situation is authentic to make sure the money will be used effectively, and it turns out that she got her answer.

Taking to her Instagram account, Wabantu shared pictures of herself, the little boy, his mother and the R10 000 cheque she handed over to them, on the front page of the Durban newspaper, iLanga, alongside the caption:  For the People... I don't do it alone, thank you @afrotainmentsa"

Wabantu has previously shown her caring side when she started giving her clothes away to fans at events earlier this year. At the time, Wabantu explained that she decided to share her wardrobe after being given so many clothes she doesn't know how what to do with it.

Good on you, Z!
