Local presenter Bonang Matheba's PR team says she was never summonsed to appear in court for tax fraud.

This comes after Sunday World reported that Matheba was to summonsed appear in the Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crime Court last week Monday.

Both the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and her public relations team have denied these claims, with her PR manager David Phillips saying the article had "factual errors" and that Matheba" was never summonsed to appear and never appeared on charges of tax fraud".

Phillips also stated that they will be taking Sunday World to the ombudsman and take any other necessary legal action.

Speaking the Channel 24, NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane said that Matheba did not appear in court on Monday and that there was no official tax fraud case on the roll against her.

Meanwhile, the "Being Bonang" star also made history this month, as the first female to bag a stand-alone cover for the Septemeber issue of the prestigious men's magazine, GQ SA.
