As part of Power FM's annual #987Woman campaign, the station has called in on a number of powerful women, including veteran TV host Felicia Mabuza-Suttle, actress Nomzamo Mbatha and TV personality Minnie Dlamini, to join the station's line-up this women's month.

Felicia Mabuza-Suttle, who is now based in the USA, made history in the early 90's as the first black woman hosting her own TV talk show.

The Felicia Show stopped airing in 2004, after much criticism from those who believe that Mabuza Suttle was trying too hard to emulate iconic US talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

Mabuza-Suttle took to twitter to express her joy at joining PowerFM, she said:

Honored for the opportunity of reconnecting with the millions of PowerFM listeners on Aug 10, 9am.THX @imanrappetti! https://t.co/GH1jIemoZp

Power FM listeners will also enjoy the voice of African Union chairperson Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, who will make her debut as a presenter on the station.

Minister of Science and Technology Naledi Pandor and Public Protector Thuli Madonsela, who both featured in the 2015 line-up, are back by popular demand.

Former radio talk show host Jenny Cryws-Williams will make her debut on Power 98.7.

“We pride ourselves with a unique ability to offer a platform for listeners to engage with our leaders in all sectors of society,” said station manager Mpumelelo Mkhabela.

The media and entertainment industry will be represented by BBC's Lerato Mbele, CNBC's Nozipho Mbanjwa Karima Brown formerly of Independent Newspapers.

The line-up will also feature some of the station's regular listeners.

#987Woman aims to celebrate South Africa’s women leaders in their respective spaces, while displaying their dynamism beyond what they are publicly renowned for.

Some of South Africa’s most accomplished women will take over the airwaves from 8-10 August 2016.

The full line-up is yet to be announced.
