Known as 'Vanilla Blonde Bailey' to close friends and family, Schneider is the bubbly presenter that caught the nation's attention on the Expresso Show with her segment "Beauty with Bailey", and is currently stealing hearts on Cape Town's Smile 90.4 FM.

Born and raised in Johannesburg, Bailey is a true foodie at heart, a passionate animal lover, and enjoys working out. Here’s what she had to say…

What is the one thing you wish you could tell your 16-year-old self?

I’d tell 16 year old Bailey to not be so hard on herself and not sweat the small stuff. Things that felt so big back then, turned out to actually be so insignificant in the greater scheme of things.

How would you define your style?

My style is comfortable and feminine. I love being really casual in a good pair of jeans, sneakers and a tee-shirt or getting dressed up in a gorgeous pair of heels and a slick of red lipstick. You’ll also usually find my hair with a pretty braid or in soft curls.

What's your guiltiest pleasure?

Binge watching series, curled up on the couch under a blanket with a hot cup of tea or a glass of wine, depending on my mood.

Where is your favourite place in the world and what makes it so special?

It’s hard to choose just one, so I’m giving a few. Switzerland is very special to me, because it’s a part of my heritage. I have my Gran and my Uncle and Aunt living there too. I absolutely love Greece. My husband was born there and we have family living there too. I’ve had some magical holidays in Greece. Zanzibar captured my heart when we visited for my Dad’s 60th Birthday and I have to include Croatia, since I went on a girls trip and made lifetime memories.

Where is your go-to eating spot in Cape Town?

I adore Mykonos Taverna in Sea Point. They have consistently delicious Greek food, brilliant service and a warm energy. I am a sucker for a Hudson’s Burgers (guido style = without the bun) and their sweet potato fries - always good. I also love V&A Waterfront Tasha’s for breakfast. Always yum food, good service and they’re particularly brilliant with children too.

What do you love most about Cape Town?

I love that while I am in a city, I feel surrounded by nature from being able to see the ocean and Table Mountain, Lions Head and Signal Hill. I love walking the Promenade most days. I love that the wine farms are close by, and I also love Capetonians resilience. Most of us have adopted water saving strategies in our home and work place and we’ve pulled together to get our water usage lower. It’s something we can be proud of. In 3 years we have lowered our water consumption by 60%… If we compare it to California and their drought, they managed 30 % in 10 years.

Which artists/actors/personalities have influenced you the most?

Alex Jay and Mark Pilgrim inspired me to better myself as a radio presenter and working with them was the ultimate work experience. This also might sound funny, but I admire Heidi Klum - she’s a working Mom, who manages to juggle her modelling, her business aspects and TV career, while being down to earth with no airs.

What makes Cape Town ‘home’?

My soul is happy in this city. I never ever thought I’d leave Johannesburg - the only home I’d ever known, but in 2012 on a business trip, I touched down in CT and an inner voice whispered: “You’re Home!” Things just started happening for me to make that a reality in 2013, and I’ve never looked back. I love my life in Cape Town, with my husband and baby boy - I feel I’m a better, calmer version of myself.
