The assault charges against 'Idols SA' runner-up Mthokozisi Ndaba were withdrawn on Monday morning at the Hillbrow Magistrate's Court. 

The singer was arrested on Thrusday and appeared in court today with the charges being provisionally withdrawn. 

Ndaba dominated headlines recently after he refused to do a press conference after his loss and a claim of physical assault was laid against him by Neo Tsele.

The charges against Mthokozisi have been withdrawn provisionally and it is unlikely that they will come back and prosecute we are confident that if the state had prospects of proceeding they would have done so today -Mthokozisi lawyer #MthokozisiNdaba

The singer issued a statement last week on Instagram with regards to the assault claims stating: "In light of the current allegations and a case opened against me, I have returned to Joburg again to co-orperate  with the police regarding the matter. 

"It has much as this has affected me, the craft God Blessed me with, the family, friends and fans negatively but let us please let our SA law to handle the matter rightfully," he wrote.
