The assault case against kwaito legend Arthur Mafokate has been postponed to September 20 at the Midrand Magistrate's Court earlier today.

Mafokate is accused of physically abusing his musician ex-girlfriend Cici, whose real name is Busisiwe Twala. Cici reportedly had to undergo a pelvic replacement after one of the attacks.

According to Sunday World,  Mafokate allegedly dragged Cici into the street during a heated argument.

The local stars have reportedly laid charges against each other. Mafokate's legal team wants to mediate out of court, but Cici wants the matter handled in court. #ArthurMafokate his lawyer says they want the matter to go for mediation

The National Prosecuting Authority’s Phindi Mjonondwane says the matter was postponed for the defence to prepare its case.

“I can confirm they sat down for disclosure of the dockets and now that it has been done, the matter has been postponed for further investigation.”

Media personality and activist Andile Gaelesiwe was also in court to support fellow musician and friend, Cici.

She tweeted:
