On Sunday night, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters won one of the most prestigious titles you can hold in the pageantry world — the Miss Universe crown.

Demi-Leigh is only the second South African to hold the title, following Margaret Gardiner's win in 1978.

This how Demi-Leigh's life will change: 

- Demi-Leigh no longer holds the Miss South Africa title. Runner-up Adé van Heerden will fulfill this role, as Demi-Leigh performs her Miss Universe duties.

- She will live in New York-based luxury apartment for the duration of her reign, including living expenses
