Mrs South Africa, Nicole Capper, was airlifted to a hospital in Nepal after experiencing altitude sickness during an expedition on Mount Everest.
The official Mrs South Africa pageant page confirmed that Capper is in a stable condition in a Twitter post: "Latest update: @MrsSA_Official @nicolejcapper is in a stable condition after being airlifted to Kathmandu hospital from Mount Everest Base Camp. Our prayers are with her (sic)"
Capper left the country on 2 April as part of an expedition to raise funds for Rare Diseases South Africa.
The cause is said to be close to her heart, as her young daughter has cystic fibrosis.
The mother of two is recovering at a Kathmandu hospital and is in "good spirits".
