Sbahle Mpisane.

On Monday Sbahle Mpisane's father, Sbu said his daughter had her first "positive day" and was making "concrete progress" because her internal bleeding had for the most part ceased.

Adding that they "hope and pray for a better tomorrow and her eternal recovery".

And it would seem that Sbu got his wish because according to TshisaLive, Sbhale opened her eyes for the first time on Tuesday, six days after her car crash.

Sbahle has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Netcare St Augustine’s Hospital since last week after a high-impact crash left her fighting for her life when her BMW burst into flames after it collided with a tree in Durban during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Paramedics had to use the Jaws of Life to remove the Durban fitness trainer from her mangled vehicle.

The cause of the accident is unknown, but authorities have confirmed that they are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving.
