Local singer Skolopad feels happy to back on stage after her hospitalisation earlier this month due to an anti-anxiety pill overdose.

Skolopad performed at the Frontier Inn and Casino in Bethlehem, Free State and over the weekend.

The singer posted a few pics of her on stage, in a more stripped down setting, having forgone her usual dance routine filled performances.

Speaking to TsishaLIVE, Skolopad said that despite all the challenges she has faced, being able to be back on stage has given her a new sense of hope.

"I had a great time on stage and this time I even decided, let me just sing my heart out. I sat down, instead of my usual dance routines. I felt like Beyonce and in that moment I remembered why I worked and fought so hard to make people know who Skolopad is."

"I felt so great that I even told the audience that I felt like I had a new source of power and strength and perhaps everything has happened the way it has so far, just so I can enjoy moments like that. It was truly magical."
