Convicted rapist Brickz, who is currently out on bail, performed in front of a packed crowd at Bassline in Johannesburg on Thursday night.

The Soweto-born kwaito star, whose real name is Sipho Charles Ndlovu, was released on R80 000 bail two weeks ago, pending the appeal against his rape conviction. Last October, Brickz was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the 2013 rape of a teenage relative.

The bail conditions include surrendering all his travel documents; not entering any international entry or departure point; the musician is not allowed to leave Johannesburg without informing the investigating officer; and he has to report to the Jabulani Police Station every Monday and Wednesday.

In a video published by Drum magazine, Brickz seems to be in his element as he performs to a cheering crowd.

Despite Brickz guilty conviction, he has always maintained his innocence, slamming the accusation as "fake".

A date has not been set for the appeal.
