Local entertainer Zodwa Wabantu wants to make it clear: she's not taking off her panty for you, she's doing it for the party-goers.

The controversial dancer appeared on the SABC3 talk show Afternoon Express on Wednesday, with hosts Bonnie Mbuli and Jeannie D.

During the interview Wabantu was very open about her upbringing, why she doesn't wear a panty, her Ben 10 boyfriend and how she got started.

One of the highlights from the interview was when Wabantu took a minute calling out her haters and explained that she grew to have a thick skin from a young age.

"You can say I'm a monkey, donkey, I'm ugly. You can name it, there's nothing that can make me go home and say I'm sad."

Referring to the haters Wabantu said: "Rather be worried that since I left home when I was sixteen I'm now on SABC3 at Afternoon Express. Be worried about where I'm gonna be in 5 years time. That means I'm gonna be a millionaire."

Wabantu also revealed why she took off her panty in a video that went viral last December.

"There commotion about my panty before this and I listened to the haters and lovers that love Zodwa.

"Some of them were saying Zodwa you're boring please wear a panty? I then go to Woolworths and buy panties for them. I arrived at the place at around four-o-clock and people were chanting 'We want Zodwa' and then I got on stage then were like Zodwa we can see some blue. You wearing a panty now? Then they said to take off the panty.

"So because I'm a people's person, I listen to my fans."

She also addressed the viewers at home who disagree with what she's doing, and said:

"Guys, listen to me SABC3 and people out there. I don't kill anyone, I'm a genuine person, I'm raw. I know I'm not like you. You know, you are so fake anyway. You act like you don't know what I'm talking about."

In the later segment of the show Zodwa talked about her boyfriend, and made it clear that he works and their relationship started before she was famous.

Before she left the dancer also taught Bonnie Mbuli a few moves, including the vosho.
