Not so long ago, Madonna strolled along a dirt track with her newly adopted twins, who looked the picture of innocence in pretty dresses.

What a difference a few weeks makes. Yesterday the 58 year old posted a startling photo of the pair online, showing how dramatically they have been changed by their new mom.

Wearing matching black and gold Adidas tracksuits, gold ribbons and red nail polish, four year old Esther and Stella, from Malawi, smiled faintly and looked rather shy for the snap. The Vogue singer posted the photo to Instagram with the caption: ‘Today’s Blessing brought to you by Adidas!’

Adidas sells a similar tracksuit on their website. Fans reacting to the photo called the twins adorable and little angels. Madonna has already adopted two children from the African country. She welcomed David Banda, 11, to the family in 2004 and then three years later adopted Mercy James, 11.

The singer is also the birth mother to 20 year old Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon, whom she had with Carlos Leon, and son Rocco Ritchie, 16, from her marriage to Guy Ritchie.

Esther and Stella’s mother died five days after giving birth due to complications from a caesarean section in August 2012. Their father, Adam Mwale, was unable to cope and handed them over to an orphanage. He has now claimed he was misled as he thought his children would be returned to him one day.
