Local artist Moonchild Sanelly has launched a crowdfund to help finance her upcoming stint as the opening act for Die Antwoord.

The "Makhe" entertainer is set to tour Europe in August with South African group Die Antwoord, and is reaching out to fans to help supplement her funding for the tour.

While she does receive a booking fee from Roc Nation, it's not enough to cover the costs of the month-long tour, which include travel, accommodation and extra living costs for herself and her team.

On her crowdfunding page Moonchild wrote: "I have been given the opportunity to open for my favourite band in the entire world on their European Tour, Die Antwoord. Although I am getting paid for my performances, a month on the road is expensive with travel & accom to cover in between shows for myself and my travel party. So... I am calling on my BooBeam community, brands and next level general mutha f**kers to help me achieve this next massive step in my career.(sic)"

The goal set for the crowdfunding page is $7100 which roughly amounts to R98 0000. However, Moonchild isn't expecting fans to open their wallets without get something out of the deal, so she designed "packages" that you can "purchase" based on your donation amount.

What fans get in return:
