Nandi Madidi jets off to NYC to host #Afropunk

Media personality Nandi Madida will be the host on the Green Stage at Afropunk in New York City on 25 - 26 August 2018. 

Madida shared the exciting news on her social media platforms, she wrote: "It is such an honour for me to make history for my continent and represent HER as the host 🎤 for Afropunk on the Green Stage. 

She continued: "The Green Stage is the biggest stage at Afropunk, and to be doing this in New York City really shows that dreams do come true. This is going to be amazing! Thank you @afropunk #wethepeople".

Before jetting off to America, Madida shared on her Twitter page that the opportunity to host one of the biggest music festivals in the world is a "dream come true".

Headlining the fest is Erykah Badu, Tyler The Creator, Miguel, and Janelle Monae. Other performers include The Internet, Twin Shadow, Ibeyi, H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, Lolawolf, Jaden Smith, Willow Smith, Trash Talk, The Fever 333, Denzel Curry, Smino, Jamila Woods, Jessie Reyes and many more.

Afropunk is an annual music and arts festival based in New York, Brooklyn and in 2017, the festival made its African debut which was hosted in Johannesburg at Constitution Hill. It was recently announced that the festival is coming back again in December for its second edition.
