Sharlto Copley is "saving up" to buy a house.

The A-Team actor - who plays Howling Mad Murdock in the big screen adaptation of the cult 80s TV show - insists that just because he is in the public eye, it doesn't mean he is a millionaire.

He said: "It doesn't really work like that. Maybe it does in sequels but I've just started out so relatively speaking it's not that much. I don't splash out on things - I'm saving up for a house in Los Angeles."

The 36-year-old star also admitted he was getting "disturbingly obsessive" about his career now that people are more interested in him and his life.

He explained: "Acting is such a self-indulgent job as it is. Previously I'd owned my own company and no one knew who I was, but now since becoming an actor it's all 'Sharlto, Sharlto, what's Sharlto doing now?'

"It really does become disturbingly obsessive. You have nowhere to go. You can't separate yourself from the job."

However the South African born actor - who stars alongside Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Jessica Biel in the movie - insists that he is determined to keep his feet on the ground.

"Most actors are used to being the centre of the attention mainly because they tend to be incredibly self-involved, particularly if they're doing well. I'm trying to be very aware of it and I try to joke about it and keep things a bit more real."
