When I'm not working I

... relax, cook for friends or read a good book. Otherwise I visit my family.

My secret passion is

... my singing talent... until my friends discovered it and forced me to record a couple of songs that I play in my car now.

My most embarrassing moment was when

... I had just joined Take 5 on SABC1, and I wanted to impress with my language skills. My mind was thinking in English and Zulu ... the words came out wrong because I wanted to speak in Xhosa as well - it was a disaster.

Since that kiss Hector gave China, how do people react towards you?

Surprisingly, people are positive about the entire series - they are calling me "braveheart". All in all people, mostly girls, love the show and my acting.

The best thing about South Africa is

... it's people. We have an amazing mix of people from different cultural backgrounds, we have the best weather and this country is alive with possibilities.

The worst thing about being me is

... I tend to be too generous, I just can't stop giving … I also procrastinate a lot.

Is this the role you have always been waiting for and if yes why?

I always said no to acting when my friends and agent suggested it, because I wasn't confident enough. But when I saw Hector's character I thought I should try. It is a leading role and guaranteed to spark discussion within communities, which is part of education. And as an educationist I could not resist.

A common misconception about me is

... For many years on Take 5, people struggled to believe that I am Mopedi by birth - most thought I am Xhosa, some thought Zulu.

A phrase I use often is

... Yah Neh.

Do you think gay people in SA are treated like everybody else?

Our democracy has come a long way to accommodate every South African, but every group has still got issues with that.

I'm terrible when it comes to

... competing at sports.

My ideal night out is

... sitting around a camp fire with wise people.

My philosophy is

... to rise above the rest and be the best I was born to be.
