Kate Middleton sits in her bath tub, crying into her wine glass, devastated at being dumped by Prince William.

Only, it isn’t really the princess in waiting. Instead, this scene is taken from William and Kate: The Movie, a film set to air in the US on April 18, just a few days before the real royal couple exchange their vows.

According to the Daily Mail, Middleton is played by British-born actress Camilla Luddington, while William will be played by New Zealander Nico Evers-Swindell.

This made-for-TV movie is set to air on the Lifetime channel and has already been described as probably 'the naffest Royal movie ever made”.

This much is evident in a scene where William and Kate declare their love for each other. “I love the you no one gets to see but me,” is Middleton’s corny line.

In another scene, Middleton described William as “just a guy”, to which a friend replies: “He’s just a guy who happens to be the future king of England”.

While the film is “inspired by true events”, but a liberal use of artistic license is evident. Neither of the main characters has a British accent either. The pair are also shown in bed together, although viewers won’t be getting an insight into the royal libido. Both characters remain fully clothed.

According to the actress playing Middleton: “Lifetime viewers are going to get a great love story. If you're a romantic at heart you're going to love it.”
