With a new year often comes changes and this new year has brought on the movement of talk giant Criselda Dudumashe to join the SABC's flagship talk radio station, SAFM.

In an announcement on her Instagram page, Dudumashe said she was excited about making the move "across the corridor" from Metro FM, a station that she credits with allowing her to grow into the "beat and pulse" for the listener.

"Metro FM forced me to not only converse in health issues, but to be the beat & pulse of my listener in all aspects that the station stands for. It is with sadness that my journey ends with the station, but with elation that I now walk across the corridor to join SAFM, a station filled with seasoned broadcasters that I look up to," she said.

Dudumashe added that she was looking forward to the SAFM brand helping her sharpen her broadcasting skills.

" As a news and information leader, SAFM demands that one makes a concerted effort to provide the listener with informed facts for healthy debates. Importantly, by its nature as a talk brand it allows for responsible freedom of expression. Personally, I know that SAFM will sharpen my broadcasting skills and broaden my viewpoint even more as I embark on this new and exciting chapter in my broadcasting journey, she said.

Ten years ago when I started at Metro FM, the station was celebrating its 20th anniversary, moving out of its teens, preparing for its adult years. We went across the continent on a mission to explore and connect the station with the rest of the continent. That experience set a tone that I have enjoyed over my stay. Traveling with other on-air talent, representing different facets of the station from music, lifestyle, entertainment, politics & news. We built camaraderie of family. Through Metro FM, I have been blessed with not just colleagues but brothers and sisters, who collectively have reinforced my love for broadcasting and broadened my viewpoint. From my KayaFM radio debut, Metro FM forced me to not only converse in health issues, but to be the beat & pulse of my listener in all aspects that the station stands for. It is with sadness that my journey ends with the station, but with elation that I now walk across the corridor to join SAFM, a station filled with seasoned broadcasters that I look up to. Dudumashe will co-host the show with Naledi Moleo a familiar voice to SAFM listeners. Moleo has hosted a weekend show, The Mash Up and a weekday show, Talkshop on the station. The pair's new show will focus on issues around gender, work life balance and things that people care about- be it culture, religion or entertainment are given the spotlight. The regular features of the show include relationship advice; men talk and young movers and shakers.

It will be on the station from January 8, at 7pm.

Other SAFM line-up changes include that, Rowena Baird will now co-host The Morning Talk with Bongi Gwala kicking off from the Monday, the 08th  of  January 2018. The station believes that they are a dynamic duo bringing their flair & zest to complement the first part of our breakfast offering.

Acting station manager Peter Mashamba said the change in the line up is in line with the lifestyle demands of their listeners

“This approach is informed by lifestyle demands of our listeners and that we believe these respective presenters will cater for all the lifestyle needs of our listeners. Criselda brings to the show her wealth of experience as a seasoned presenter”, he said.
