Some of SA's leading female vocalists will set the stage alight in celebration of the greatest music created by women for Women's Month.
Divas takes place at the Cuba Lounge events room at Moses Mabhida Stadium on August 8, the eve of the woman’s day public holiday, and features hit music by the likes of Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Rihanna and a host of others in a spectacular vocal display.
Among the stellar cast of female artists performing the famous hits are Natalie Rungan and Janine V and Ashleigh Joseph. Local audiences would be well acquainted with Rungan’s silky smooth jazzy voice. Rungan has performed across the country, thrilling audiences with her incredible versatility and stage presence. She is also a celebrated recording artist. Rungan is equally comfortable performing her own songs or covers of classics.
Janine V is the complete package, singer songwriter and producer whose music has taken her across the world. Janine V recently returned to South Africa after completing a singing residency in Dubai where she made a considerable impact. In addition to performing at top venues around the country, she is also a recording artist who has appeared on radio and TV.
Influenced by an old school era and movie score, her songs leave you with a hint of smoky burlesque club, a touch of hip hop, and just enough pop to make it relatable. Her live repertoire is extensive & includes original songs as well as cover versions covering all genres.
Completing the stellar trio is Ashleigh Joseph, the sweet voiced front lady of legendary band Dukes Combo. Versatile and hugely talented, Joseph is comfortable with a huge catalogue of songs and tackles even the newest hits with ease. She is a social media sensation, earning hundreds of thousands of views with her live renditions of popular songs.
Divas takes place at the Cuba Lounge Moses Mabhida on August 8 at 8pm.
