Is LeAnn Rimes’ marriage headed for the rocks? The 30-year-old singer checked herself into rehab this week in a bid to deal with her ”stress and anxiety”, but it appears her husband Eddie Cibrian may be the source of these woes.
According to gossip site Radaronline, Rimes confided in her friends that she feared Cibrian was cheating on her. Sources told the website that Rimes feared the worst after Cibrian went out several times without her.
“LeAnn called a friend of hers a few weeks ago sobbing hysterically about Eddie going out,” revealed an insider.
“She was home for the weekend and he didn’t stay in with her and she was crying saying that she was so worried about what he was doing when he wasn’t with her.”
According to the website’s sources, cracks are beginning to show in the marriage.
“LeAnn is beyond stressed about the cracks in her relationship with Eddie and she has been really scared that he is cheating on her.”
Could it be that Rimes fears that history will repeat itself. After all, she and Cibrian were both married when they met and began an affair in 2009 while filming ‘Northern Lights’. Both subsequently left their spouses to be with one another.
Rimes’ dramatic move into rehab was also sparked by a Twitter attack that labelled her a ”homewrecker”.
Instead of ignoring the abuse, Rimes defended herself, and even called up one of her followers to swear at her.
According to Kimberly Smiley, Rimes phoned her and said: “Hey b****, this is LeAnn, you have five minutes to say whatever you want to me”.
Rimes has since filed a lawsuit against Smiley and another woman, saying they illegally recorded the phone conversation.
