Bharathiraja has been served a notice by the Kerala High Court, along with the Kerala state government and the Chalanachitra Academy.
The court’s order came after Anil Ambalalkkara, the producer of Perariyathavar, filed a petition alleging irregularities in the election of films for awards.
Ambalalkkara got details about Bharathiraja’s visits and how long he stayed in the state to watch the movies. His argument was that it was impossible for Bharathiraja to have seen all 85 movies in nine days.
Director Hari Kumar, who was one of the members of the jury, has defended Bharathiraja. He says the film-maker has seen all the films. – Oneindia.in
