POET and lyricist Vairamuthu has heaped praise on Soundarya Ashwin for her ability to handle the pressure in her debut venture, Kochadaiiyaan, starring her father, Rajinikanth.

He said the daughter of the superstar would make her father proud with her forthcoming multilingual flick.

“It’s a huge responsibility to direct Rajinikanth. Being his daughter doesn’t make it easier. In fact, it is even more challenging because the stakes are high. But Soundarya has handled the pressure very well. The film is now in the hands of the audience,” Vairamuthu said recently.

Vairamuthu worked with Ashwin for the first time on Kochadaiiyaan. Her directorial debut is said to be India’s first motion capture photo-realistic 3D animated film.

Vairamuthu, who penned all the songs in the film, said: “I think she is the first daughter in India to direct her father. If Rajini raised his daughter on his shoulders when she was young, it is now her turn to shoulder her father through the film. I’m sure she will make him proud with Kochadaiiyaan.”

The film was jointly produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment.

Kochadaiiyaan, which also features Deepika Padukone, Sarath Kumar, Nassar and Jackie Shroff, is scheduled for release on April 11. – oneindia.in
