Thirteen years later, the boys and girls are at it again and headed back to East Great Falls for their high school reunion, but not without their adult baggage.

In true American Pie fashion, we welcome back Jim, Stifler and the rest of the gang. Jim (Biggs) and Michelle (Hannigan) are now parents, but are having some trouble spicing up their relationship since their baby’s birth. Kevin (Nicolas) has grown a beard. Oz (Pine) is the host of a sports talk show, but now most famous for his stint on a reality dance show competition.

Stifler (Scott) is a temp at a business and has to deal with an egotistical boss. And Finch (Thomas) comes back to town with stories of his adventurous travels.

When the group reunite, they realise all the dreams they had in high school for the future didn’t completely pan out. If you have seen the previous movies, you will know to expect a lot of slapstick, rude and crude humour.

While the audience may laugh at the jokes and the gags littered throughout the movie, it still feels as if the makers were trying too hard to make them do so.

There are the obvious main roles in the film, while some actors have brief cameos purely for nostalgia’s sake and are then easily forgotten. However, you do see every original cast member.

The true stars of the movie are Levy and Scott. Levy is enjoyable as a silly and awkward father figure. But the onscreen winner is Scott.

This movie would simply have been about four guys moaning and boring you for about an hour-and-a-half, if not for Stifler.

Other than bare boobs, or seeing Jim’s penis from behind a glass pot cover, the other 90 percent of the jokes centre on Stifler.

With the plot exactly what you would expect from an American Pie movie, it’s a given for a fan to go and see it, and even curious teenage boys wanting to sneak into the cinema. However, if you’re not a fan, then this movie is definitely not for you.

American Pie: Reunion is for the die-hard fans who want to have one last round with these characters.

If you liked… any of the American Pie movies… you’ll like this.
