Their legions of fans are convinced they sing the best songs ever, and next year, you’ll be able to judge that for yourself.

Boy group One Direction, considered the world’s biggest band, on Monday announced the dates for their much anticipated worldwide tour and it includes three stops in South Africa.

This Big Concerts experience, presented by 94.7 Highveld Stereo, KFM and M-Net, encompasses two dates in Johannesburg, before a final flourish in Cape Town.

The dates and venues are as follows:

Johannesburg: Saturday 28th March 2015 at FNB Stadium (ticket price: R405 – R915)

Johannesburg: Sunday 29th March 2015 at FNB Stadium

Cape Town: Wednesday 1st April 2015 at Cape Town Stadium (R395 – R850)

Tickets go on sale Friday 23rd May at 9am. Go to www.bigconcerts.com for all the information.

If you want the full VIP experience, you could purchase Hot Tickets. These include ‘best seat’ ticket in a block with great views of both the main stage and B stage, a 1D wristwatch with pouch, a laminate card and lanyard.

Hot Tickets cost R2450 per person for the Johannesburg concert, and R2100 for the Cape Town leg. Book through www.bigconcerts.com

Seeing as almost all One Directioners are of a tender age, the following restriction on ticket sales should be noted: all fans attending the concerts that are younger than 14 years must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian. There is also an age restriction on field standing tickets (Golden Circle East/West and General Admission East/West) – no one under 13 years and shorter than 1.2 metres will be permitted onto the field.

For those parents who are about to be pestered for One Direction tickets, but are a bit in the dark as to who the band are, consider this: Last year One Direction released their record-breaking third album Midnight Memories, which saw them named as the IFPI’s Global Artist of 2013 for becoming the biggest selling act in the world. They also became the first ever band to have their first three albums debut at No 1 in the US Billboard Chart, hitting the top spot in a further 30 countries worldwide.

The band consists of Harry, Niall, Liam, Louis and Zayn. - Tonight Reporter
