Fans packed into the venue and before Britain’s most famous reggae band stepped onto the stage, the guys from Grassy Spark opened the show with some local reggae tunes.

And then Astro ran onto stage and asked the crowd: “Is everybody in the mood to party?” and the crowd roared “Yes,” and the band kicked off the jol with their hit, Wear To The Ball. Ali, Astro and Mickey reunited the band in 2013, but on Friday night you’d never say they spent any time apart as they jammed on stage.

Smile The show was a dream come true for Nicky Bruintjies from Wynberg, who couldn’t wait to see her favourite band live on stage.”My favourite song is Can’t Help Falling in Love With You,” she says with a smile.

”I got these tickets in May already because I said this is the show I’m not going to miss. ”Stanley Brevis from Woodlands was excited to see the reggae band for the first time in his life.

Pulsating ”All these years I’ve loved them and when the band broke up, I thought I’d never see them play,’ he says.

The Golden Circle in front of the stage was pulsating as people screamed and danced along as the band rocked on.

UB40 played all their hits and their Cape fans just “Can’t Stop Falling In Love” with them.
